My brother-in-arms and good friend, Dmytro Ryvak, possessed exceptional knowledge and skills in combat engineering. He completed numerous training programmes, including FBI courses in the United States on identifying and disarming IEDs (improvised explosive devices). Dima was one of the best sappers in Ukraine, who taught me everything I know incombat engineering. Dima cleared countless villages and towns in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. He received numerous awards, including state honours.

I remember us sitting together in my apartment in Sievierodonetsk, while he was remotely controlling how his moonshine was distilled back in Lviv in a homemade device. He was checking readings and fine-tuning it right from his phone.
This man will forever remain in my memories and will always be in my heart.
