My memory took me back to the town where I spent every summer at the Skadovsk children’s sanatorium. Every year, I looked forward to returning there for my summer vacation. The recreation programme rarely changed: I would visit the salt cave, undergo various health treatments, and my favourites were the oxygen cocktails and herbal infusions. And then, of course, came the sea. Lots of jelly fish and seahorses. The sunsets there were extremely beautiful!

Every evening, we could observe the planets through telescopes and buy seaside treats: boiled crabs, rapana, shrimp. It was impossible to pass by the local crafts people’s stalls without buying something handmade.

The trips to Dzharylhach Island were always exciting. There, you’d catch some fish and cook soup yourself. Those memories will forever remain in my heart. Since 2022, unfortunately, I have not been able to visit that town.

Today, Skadovsk remains temporarily occupied by russia. Yet I am sure I will return there one day, because our Armed Forces will reclaim all our lands. It will definitely happen!

P.S. Skadovsk has been under russian occupation since 24 February 2022‍
